By Jon | on August 04, 2022 By Staff Writer AKRON — City of Akron officials are planning to improve Perkins Woods Pool, located at 899 Diagonal Road, and the Ed Davis Community Center, located at 730 Perkins Park Drive, both using American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, as well as some Community Development Block Grant funds and general operating funds.
Officials stated cost estimates are $5.5 million for the Perkins Pool project and $9.4 million for Ed Davis. Officials added the two projects were selected after a 2019 City of Akron Recreation and Parks Bureau survey, followed by community meetings to determine what area residents wanted to see at these facilities.
